This statement, is worth reading, and remembering, each day. My daughter found this statement while writing a paper a couple of years ago. It made a profound impact on me. I remember it, when I read the paper, watch the evening news.

i guess they've found a whole whack of oil in n dakota, largest in the country - now what to do with it.
keep it out of the hands of the oil companies for sure and you have to wonder if it wouldn't be a wise decision by the state to sit back and evaluate it for it's worth.
if they keep it as state owned, they can use their own state bank to fund the development and then build their own refineries - sell the product to the other states and that could easily dissolve the imports from saudi arabia and the middle east.

2 decades isn't very long. I think we need to be ready to use this oil, but until then, lets use everybody else's oil first.

there are a lot of intelligent people here with, i assume, some very interesting occupations.... but hey, we all had to start somewhere........ for myself, my first real job was at a local clothing store, imagine my surprise when at the age of 18 i realized just how much items were marked up...!!!
i priced the clothes at 3 times the cost to the store.
I worked in a Sub sandwich shop, when not many people ate them. My old JW girl friend and I would say hi to the band teacher, which was my last hour of high school, and he would wave us off. In other words, he didn't want to practice that day. Actally it was orchestra. I played violin. There were only 5 or 6 of us.
Usually alot of the band were hanging around him, with the girls flirting with him.
So my friend and I would go across the street to the sub shop, and hang out, til time to go home. We know our parents would have a fit, having a class, without going, and getting A's.
I begged every day for a job. They kept saying when I turned 16. So, the day I turned 16, I walked in, and asked "When do I start?" That night.

Nicolaou, I am leaning more and more everyday. to becoming agnostic. I want to believe, but find myself questioning more and more each day. but please hear me out from a common sense viewpoint here.
Flipper, I am sure, when we read and follow the accompanying scriptures provided by the WTS, we will understand all of this "new light". I can't believe we missed this new information, all of this time, as it was written in the Bible, and that everybody else in the world, is blind, except the JW's.

we've been here about 6 months... yesterday (sat) a carload of jw pulls up over the cattle guards and up the drive way.. wife and i are working in the yard.
the guy gets out with a pair of magaizines.

A mass marketing of: No Jehovah's Witnesses Allowed signs. Think Wal-Mart would be interested? Everyone in every city and town would have to have one. As more people would put up these signs, it would limit whose houses they could go to ... They would get visits more and more often, that they would get tired of it, and go buy a sign.
And so on, And so on, til all had signs!!!!!!

so all this talk at the moment about funerals and stuff got me thinking... what kind of an exit party would i like?.
i reckon i would not want anything too formal, but i would want loads of people saying how great i was - i people to notice that i am no longer around, and be sad about it!
i want people to share good memories.
NO cremation.
I want a cheap casket. The only flowers allowed, to be on my casket. In lieu of flowers, give money to the Public Library, or a scholarship fund.
Bury me in the cheap section of the cemetery, I really don't care.
The only thing I want is: Warm Bodies at the funeral. I told my husband to advertise, advertise, advertise. Give away door prizes if need be. Pay strangers to come. I want people thinking that I had so many damn friends, how did I remember all of their names.
Oh... and a guard at the door, to keep out my top 5 enemies, who would probably come and pinch my poor dead body.
